Bülent Aksoy

Author, translator, also faculty member at Boğaziçi University between 1992 and 2019. He gratuated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, English Philology department. He completed his PhD at the Art History department of the same faculty. Most of his works are books and essays on the history of Ottoman classical music. Besides, at Açık Radyo, he prepared weekly music programs between 1995 and 2003 together with Erso Pekin, he continues to prepare the program on his own since 2003 at the same radio station.

Bülent Aksoy taught etymology courses for twenty seven years at Boğaziçi University, and gave several lectures to emphasise the importance of this discipline. He is the author of these books: Sermüezzin Rifat Bey'in Ferahnak Mevlevî Ayini [Rifat Bey's Mevlevi Ayin Composition in Makam Ferahnak](1992), Avrupalı Gezginlerin Gözüyle Osmanlılarda Musıki [Music in the Ottomans from the Perspective of European Travellers] (1994, 2003), Geçmişin Musıki Mirasına Bakışlar [Glances at the Musical Heritage of the Past] (2008, 2015), Introduction to the Etymology of the English Language for Turkish-Speaking Learners (2020).
